MOBILE MENTORING PROGRAM

Fayetteville-Raeford CARES Mentoring Movement (FRC) re-purposed a surplus school bus and transformed it into our mobile mentoring program. We provide:

  • onsite tutoring

  • study assistance,

  • social and learning interaction and,

  • other outreach services to disadvantaged youth in Cumberland and Hoke County, North Carolina.

Our Mobile Mentoring Initiative brings resources and services outside a fixed location to our children and families where they are. It serves as a unique and distinct way to provide a safe social/learning environment, as well as provide a personal touch to the CARES mentoring model.

We also provide: one-on-one mentoring, small group mentoring and a creative wellness initiative with real time support. Our youth have immediate access to mentorship; eliminating the need to travel to a building. We bring mentoring where they are.

Our Mobile Mentoring Program gives us the opportunity to touch more young lives and reach youth who are in critical need of positive role models, mentors, supplemental education programs and initiatives that foster positive leadership. We provide added value to local mentoring programs, community organizations, school districts, universities, religious organizations, local and state governments, families and most important, our youth.

“We’re thrilled to be able to offer this mentoring initiative to a wide reach of individuals interested in becoming a mentor,” said Alberta Lampkins, Affiliate Leader. “Building and empowering our youth through supportive relationships will provide opportunities to make a dramatic difference in a young person life.”

“Our youth deserve our attention. They deserve positive role models and good leadership,” said Al Lampkins, Affiliate Leader. “We hope to be the guiding force that empowers our youth to see the possibilities of their success!

We adhere to social distancing, temperature checks and all precautions mandated by the Centers of Disease Control (CDC). The mobile mentoring bus is fully equipped with cleaning supplies, hand sanitizer, masks and other precautionary items to reduce risks and maintain a healthy environment for both our mentors and mentees.

Our Mobile Mentoring Program is accessible, flexible, and provides a service and commitment to bringing quality mobile mentoring to our youth with benefits to, parents, families, educators, and more.
